A Private War
110 min.
A biographical drama about the American journalist and foreign affairs correspondent Marie Colvin, who worked for the British newspaper The Sunday Times and who died while covering the siege of Homs in Syria in 2012. Colvin reported on conflicts around the world, including in Chechnya, Sierra Leone, and Sri Lanka. She suffered from PTSD, lost an eye, and eventually was killed in the line of duty, but she held the enduring belief that her job was "to bear witness." She also saved the lives of many civilians both directly, and indirectly through her reporting.
