This indie film contains many topics that are contested today in terms of having adequate inclusion - Indian-American representation, interracial lesbian relationships, and non-traditional family arrangements. The story centers on Reena, a second-generation Indian-American lesbian who is struggling to come into her own. In contrast, her elder sister Sarita does everything "right," that is until she finds out that she's infertile. Reena comes up with the idea to be her sister's surrogate, but things don't go as planned... Although aspects of this film are dated, it's sweet and uplifting overall.
