This short film illustrates the power of the media, specifically film studios, in their shaping of public perceptions and history. Factored in are issues of race and gender, as the protagonist of the film is a white-passing black woman who has worked hard to become a studio executive. She is given control of a film starring a white actress whose singing parts are dubbed and actually sung by an uncredited black woman, which causes great personal turmoil.
