Minding the Gap
93 min.
Three young men bond together to escape volatile families in their Rust-Belt hometown. As they face adult responsibilities, unexpected revelations threaten their decade-long friendship. -- imdb
Even though this is Bing Liu's first feature-length work, it's incredibly dense and emotional. The film follows his personal life and that of his childhood friends, but its sensitive topics - dysfunctional homes, domestic abuse, teen angst, loss of the innocence of youth, economic hardship, etc. are evocative, if not gut-wrenching to any viewer.
