A TV mini series based on Alex Haley's book about his family history during the era of slavery in the U.S. It follows the life of Kunta Kinte (played by Levar Burton), from the time that he is taken from his home in Africa through several decades as a slave and eventually into freedom. An emotional, personal and eye opening depiction of life as a slave in this country.
