War Witch
90 min.
This film follows a 12-year-old African girl named Komona who loses everything after rebel militants attack her village, kill her family, and kidnap her. Even though she must struggle to survive as a child soldier afterwards, she meets a young boy and they fall in love. Similar to Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line in the sense that both films present a poetic look at something which is not poetic in nature, with a focus on the beauty and purity of the surrounding environment.
