When a Man Loves a Woman
Meg Ryan plays an alcoholic wife and mother of two, struggling to accept her alcoholism and to cope with newfound sobriety while her husband, played by Andy Garcia, tries desperately to reconcile her changes with his own emotional responses, realizing in the process that he is equally responsible for creating the dynamic that existed between them when she was in the throes of her addiction. This movie depicts the dynamic of a family living with the disease of addiction and the impact and implications of sobriety on every member of that family, especially the spouse.
