Tells the story of Maria, a young woman who takes refuge in a house in southern Chile after escaping from a German colony. -- imdb
This experimental, stop-motion animated film is presented as a fairy tale, but is actually based on the horrific and real events that occurred at Colonia Dignidad, a compound in Chile founded by a German who had fled his country to escape charges of pedophilia. Colonia Dignidad also had associations with Nazi war criminals and the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
