Stop-Loss
This film depicts the common practice of our government in the controversial use of “stop-loss”, in which Iraq war soldiers are routinely sent back to duty again and again due to a shortage of recruits. The movie does a decent job in depicting different soldier scenarios, how several individuals react differently to their experiences of war, such as PTSD and suicide. Although these depicted stories may come across as “anti-war sentiment”, the film also has plenty of high testosterone scenes which could be read as pro-military as well.
